Nutrition Supplements Can Help You Lose Weight
Weight loss advocates tell you that you should eat small meals five to six times per day. That's a lot of food if you think about it, even if they are smaller meals than you'd normally eat. Thankfully, you can get the same nutritional benefit by including nutrition supplements along with real food to help you get your daily allowance of the calories you need. Vitamins and nutrition supplements should be included in any diet of someone who is looking to lose weight, maintain their weight, or for anyone who is just looking to get healthier. You don't need to spend a fortune on nutrition supplements, in fact less is more, but with a little help from your local nutrition center, you can become healthier than you've ever been before.
Balanced Nutrition
In order to balance your daily nutrition, you should find out how many calories you are supposed to eat each day to either lose weight or maintain your weight; whatever your goals happen to be. To find out, take your weight and multiply it by 13 if you're typically sedentary, 14 if you are moderately active and 15 if you are very active. This will give you your daily calorie requirement per day to maintain the weight you're holding now. If your goal is to lose weight, you should subtract five hundred calories from that total and you should try to eat that each day. If your goal is to gain weight, such as would be the case of weight lifters, you should add five hundred calories, and so on. However, not all calories are created equal.
No Junk
It would do no good to include nutrition supplements in your diet only to stuff your face with chocolate cake, cookies and pop all day. You need to include plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and more natural foods in your diet. These types of foods should comprise about ninety percent of your daily food intake. However, you can substitute some of your meals with nutrition supplements, such as vitamins, protein shakes, protein bars, and other nutrition supplements that can give you the nutrients you need.
A Good Plan
A good plan would be to eat a breakfast with some carbohydrates and protein in order to get you through your day, such as a good, healthy breakfast cereal with skim milk. For a snack, have a protein shake or some other nutrition supplement and a piece of fruit. For lunch, have some lean meat such as chicken, vegetables and some brown rice or whole wheat bread. Add another nutrition supplement for another snack and then have a piece of lean meat and vegetables for dinner. You can have another supplement before you go to bed but make sure you tailor back your calorie intake before you go to sleep because your risk those excess calories being turned into fat while you sleep.
